Commentaires

Our teams final field day for the season. Sunshine, and low avalanche hazard provided a nice run off the east facing side of the Trout River Bowl. New snow over the last couple days has refilled previous ski tracks. The bowls snowpack has grown a little since last weekend and should hold up for sometime yet. We found heavy snow conditions, breakable crust, soft damp snow, hard surfaces, but enjoyable skiing non the less. All new surface snow conditions seemed well bonded to the widespread hard crust underneath. My partner did manage to pick his way up the ascent on skis without too much trouble, I walked. Skiing out from the base requires cautious and limited terrain options, but still reasonable. We gave the drainage some space in these deteriorating spring conditions, and would be weary around that feature moving forward. Although our season deteriorated quickly, it’s easy to appreciate what this feature provides to our spring ski community. Three other parties up there today, we all got a sun tan:)
